Clearly not bothered about being interrupted while on his journey, Gallagher even posed for selfies with a few people.

One person captioned a photo: “Here’s @NoelGallagher travelling to London’s O2 Arena ahead of his performance with @U2 last night #legend”.

Introducing the Oasis member to the stage, Bono said: “I’d like to bring out of one my heroes, one of the band’s heroes to help us out with this next song”.

Gallagher played the acoustic guitar and provided backup vocals for a rendition of the U2 classic “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For”.

U2 are in the middle of the European leg of their Innocence + Experience tour and fans were treated to a surprise as Noel Gallagher joined the band on stage.

Gallagher told Absolute Radio past year that he “loves” public transport in London: “I have an Oyster card, I’m always on the tube. I know what I want a place called home”, he said. “I’ve never been minded on the tube”.
