Don Lemon’s response to #AssaultAtSpringValleyHigh video sparks outrage
“No, we’re not kidding – we don’t know what happened”, Lemon responded.

Lemon discussed the Spring Valley High incident in where Fields was filmed on video slamming a student to the ground and restraining her while on CNN show The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer. As far as the desk going over, I don’t know if the desk fell over because she didn’t want to get up, or if he pushed over, I don’t know, so I think there’s context to everything, I would like to see what happens before and I would like to see what happened afterwards… Lemon, while emphasizing that the footage looked “horrible”, said that he was not fully convinced the officer acted inappropriately by overturning the student’s desk. Hostin said. “The law provides that the standard here is whether the officer used reasonable force – whether it’s necessary”.
He said he wanted to wait for more information to come out, but CNN legal analyst Sunny Hostin shot back that it’s pretty clear from the video that this was excessive use of force.
“We don’t know what happened”.
“I don’t need to know more”, Hostin screamed, to which Lemon replied, “You do need to know more!”
“How do you know without all the information?”
“You don’t know that she’s just sitting there”, Lemon said as the video of her just-sitting-there before the attack rolled to the right of him.
Hostin should be applauded for trying to talk much-needed sense into the conversation, even though Lemon still didn’t seem entirely convinced.
We, the people want a journalist and an anchor that will not be afraid to accept the facts that are occurring within the African-American community and who will encourage our people the same way that person will encourage others across the board.

Lemon defended his comments. “As a prosecutor, you should want to know more”.
