Actress Halle Berry and husband Olivier Martinez are headed for splitsville.

“It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to divorce”, the actors told CNN in a joint statement. Both parties have requested joint custody of their son.
A report in People says that Halle and Olivier, both 49, announced their divorce publicly on Tuesday. The divorce filing was done under pseudonyms, where Halle Berry was “Hal Maria” whereas, Martinez was ‘Oliver Martin’. News interview last month, Berry celebrated her first anniversary with a bang – a tropical vacation with Martinez in Hawaii. An angered Martinez smacked a auto seat toward an LAX employee during a brief delay while Martinez, Berry, and their children were heading home from the airport. The couple welcomed son Maceo that October.
The couple chose to tend their two years of marriage as she already filed dissolution from the 49-year-old French actor.
TMZ has revealed that the pair cited irreconcilable differences on their paperwork after a source explained that, “they have a personality difference”. Halle has had ongoing disputes with the father of her daughter, Nahla (that being Gabriel Aubry), which means she couldn’t move lock, stock and proverbial barrel to “Europe” as planned.
It’s Berry’s third failed marriage – she was previously Wednesday to former baseball player David Justice and singer Eric Benet.

A source told People the relationship between Halle and Olivier had “run its course”, but that they’ll be keeping things amicable. Martinez has been in several fights before, most notably with Aubry over Thanksgiving in 2012. The couple was said to have “drifted apart” thanks to hectic work schedules and hence chose to call time on their union.
