Ryan Reynolds Dad Dies, Asks Fans To Donate To Parkinson’s Foundation
Reynolds, 39, had revealed in November 2014 that his dad, known as Jim, had been battling Parkinson’s disease for 20 years.

The 39-year-old actor – who has 10-month-old daughter James with wife Blake Lively – is mourning the passing of 74-year-old James C. Reynolds, and has appealed for fans to donate to Michael J. Fox’s website, which aids Parkinson’s disease research.
James, who suffered from Parkinson’s Disease, died on October. 25 in a hospital British Columbia in Canada, according to his obituary.
The Canadian actor, tweeted: ‘RIP Pops.
In the essay, he details how he had the privilege of meeting Michael J. Fox, who also has Parkinson’s, and agreed to run the New York City Marathon for Fox’s foundation. “1941-2015”, wrote the star, alongside a handsome picture of himself as a baby being cradled in his father’s arms.
“My father really hasn’t ever said he has Parkinson’s disease, ‘” Reynolds said in an interview with “The Today Show”.
“Despite health challenges that could have slowed him down, Jim was a strong and passionate man who lived life to the fullest”.
“[My father] comes from a pretty prideful generation. But, he’s maybe said it once or twice out loud”, Ryan said.
He became involved with the group in 2008 and serves on its board of directors.
Reynolds’ father never publicly disclosed his illness, which Reynolds says was officially diagnosed in 1995. ‘And for us, it’s in a unusual way, it’s really kind of brought us together’.

“I’ve watched my father – a strong and proud person who successfully raised 4 arguably insane children – slowly, cruelly stripped of his independence”, he wrote.
