Jacob deGrom Will Cut His Hair, We’ve Got Suggestions
Such follicle excess doesn’t play all that well with third baseman David Wright, the Mets’ captain. That is not a criticism, it is a reality. Despite lingering injuries that have hampered him in the later portion of his career, Wright has found a way to embrace it all. For real. After all David Wright had been through while playing for the Mets, he was still that excited to be able to play for the Mets.

The Missouri attorney general, Chris Koster, is warning fans of potential scams for counterfeit tickets to the Kansas City Royals World Series game. Certain segments of the Mets’ fanbase and media became certain that Wright was unclutch despite all the evidence to the contrary, and called for the team to trade him – not for anyone in particular, just to get rid of him – so frequently that it became a running joke at the Mets blog Amazin’ Avenue.
Wright hit. 352 with a 1.034 OPS in September of 2007, when the Mets collapsed around him and missed the playoffs by a game.
The oldest of four sons, Wright was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia and was named the 2001 Gatorade Virginia High School Player of the Year. No offense to Mr. Kranepool, but as a player Wright has been on a different level. He will eventually hold the record for games played and possibly for home runs.
The New York Rangers are supporting the Mets, Pat Leonard writes in the Daily News. It’s a dream come true, to say the least, and something I am very, very proud of. He stuck with the Mets through thick and thin, and somehow endured undue criticism from a portion of the fan base after playing through a broken back for them.
Or why I’m right and you’re wrong.
In October, the Mets haven’t looked like the team that had the highest-scoring offense in the National League after the July addition of Yoenis Cespedes. When the Mets take the field Tuesday night at Kauffman Stadium for Game 1 of the World Series, it will be after following Alderson’s sales pitch of adding pieces around the power arms.
Through a less sentimental lens, Wright’s postseason performance in 2015 has been good and bad. For these Royals backed up their billing that they don’t die easy.
The Royals excel in the big moments. So who should you root for?
Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson has a jammed left thumb but plans to play in the World Series opener. They can’t “out-hero” the Royals in the late innings.

On Monday, Chiefs coach Andy Reid offered his encouragement on the eve of the World Series. There has not been even a hint of back problems. However, the reason he is the key to the Mets winning the World Series will not show up in the box score. But if you watched what Wright went through over the past nine years, and you saw the way he carried it, it’s hard not to approach Tuesday night’s World Series Game 1 thinking that David Wright earned this, and that he deserves this. Something has got to happen.’ And you’re kind of waiting for some of those speed bumps, which we’ve experienced plenty of the last few years.
