As reported by Business Korea, the daily average payment increased from 800 million won (AU$977000) to over 2 billion won (AU$2.44 million) within a short span of time. Just a week after Verizon offered support for the service, Samsung Electronics Co. has seen repeat usage among its users. These users average 100,000 cashless transactions daily in several establishments like restaurants, department stores, supermarkets, and convenience stores.

Representatives of Samsung took to the stage of Money 20/20 in Las Vegas Tuesday (Oct. 27) to share a handful of updates about Samsung Pay, an offering that company reps have continually deemed to be “the most accepted mobile payment system”.

Launched in the U.S.in September, Samsung Pay supports both NFC payments and Samsung’s MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) protocol, meaning it can be used at more merchants than Apple Pay or Android Pay.

What Samsung did share was that USA consumers who are using Samsung Pay are using it repeatedly, reportedly to the tune of eight transactions per active user, according to a company release. In addition to the Galaxy Note 5, Samsung Pay also works with the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge+.
