When you open a photo, you’ll need to switch from the standard Android file picker to a file manager in order to see the RAW files (don’t accidentally open the JPEG). Now Google appears to have listened to your plea.

Google Photos has a new hiding feature where you can select faces you no longer wish to see and the app will bury corresponding photos at the bottom of the stack. Among the updates: face matching becoming more widely available, improvements in app performance, and an option for you to hide photos with specific faces in them. This same feature stops “events with that person” from appearing under “Rediscover this day” cards in your Photos Assistant.
According to Android Police, Google is set to launch collaboration features for creating and sharing albums in the near future, but that isn’t part of this release. Google can take its time to push app updates out, so keep an eye on the Play Store in the coming days.
So if you know you’ve got a bunch of photos of someone you’re not particularly fond of, you can “Hide” that person’s face.
In the people section you’ll want to tap on More to display everyone. With this version, facial tagging has been expanded to Latin America, Canada, the Caribbean, Australia, and New Zealand. Tap on a face you want to show again, and then press Done.
