Houston RB Arian Foster out for season with Achilles injury
As if things couldn’t get any worse for the 2-5 Houston Texans, now the team’s star running back and offensive focal point, Arian Foster, is out for the season with a torn Achilles. “Trying to make a cut, gave out on me”, Foster recalled.

Although the results of Foster’s MRI aren’t back, O’Brien acknowledged that Foster’s season is over because of a torn Achilles. “We’re all supportive of him in that rehab”. He had started rounding into form, with 228 yards receiving and two touchdowns in four games and a cumulative 112 yards rushing to go with a TD on the ground against Jacksonville and Miami. “He’s a guy who’s proven he can come back from injury and I’m sure once he can rehab it, he’ll rehab it diligently”. With this latest setback Foster hasn’t played a full-season since 2012. A fourth quarterback, Zac Dysert, is on the practice squad. The Houston are still alive even with a 2-5 record as they are only a game behind the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC South Division Standings.
“I think he’s done a lot in the two years I’ve been here”, Texans coach Bill O’Brien said, per Tania Ganguli of ESPN.
The Texans will look to DeAndre Hopkins, Alfred Blue and Chris Polk to fill in the void left by Foster, as reported by NFL.com.

Foster also missed the first three games this season with a serious groin injury suffered during training camp. He missed three games last season and sat out eight games in 2013 after back surgery. In Week 3, he rambled for 139 yards and a touchdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
