The sleek cylindrical router was created to be a complete departure from the normal router – which is one of those appliances that almost everyone has and probably never thinks about.

One interesting feature of this router is something called Wave Control.
The features are more or less than same, the Asus-made OnHub also promises faster Wi-Fi, easy setup and simple management of the router with the Google On application. Launched back in August, Google’s OnHub takes the complication of routers and simplifies the process with a well-designed app and easy-to-understand features. OnHub from ASUS lets you control your OnHub with a wave over the top.
Apparently, the device to be boosted must be identified in advance in the router’s firmware.
The new OnHub is now available only in the United States and you can pre-order it if you are ready to shed $219.99.
In addition to the above, the OnHub router from ASUS will include the latest version of WiFi (802.11 AC), a 5Ghz network option, a single LAN (likely Gigabyte), and a USB 3.0 port for adding a hard drive or flash drive. The update will allow the router to check and then select the best connection for a device at any time.

The OnHub routers are created to be upgradeable, and Google has announced that all their OnHub routers – including the TPLink model – will receive an OTA update shortly bringing a smart new antenna alogrithim to the devices. Up to this point, TP-LINK has been the lone OnHub provider, but now, ASUS has also joined the arena. The updates will roll in automatically without the user doing any extra work, so you wouldn’t even have to worry about it.
