In recent years the Hamas leadership has been trying to spark an intifada in the West Bank that will lead to the PA’s collapse – whether through a revolt by the Palestinian population or a wide-scale Israeli military operation against the PA military forces that are responsible for the terror.
It said the rocket had landed in an open area in the southern region of Shaar HaNegev, which borders Gaza, without causing any injuries. There were no injuries and no obvious damage.
The late Monday raids on the Palestinian coastal enclave followed reports of an alleged rocket attack from Gaza on southern Israel earlier in the day.
It did not specify whether anyone was injured in the air strike, while Palestinian media outlets reported at least one person was injured in the strike, but did not report his condition. A few hours later, another Palestinian was shot while attempting to stab a soldier near the same area.
In such circumstances, in addition to solidarity among Arab and Islamic countries, and despite domestic conflicts in the Arab countries, efforts should be made to increase solidarity among the public opinion of the Arab and European countries with the Palestinian people in particular, and also in opposition to Israeli policies.
“I think that there could be a prospect of calming it down if the Palestinian Authority took a more clear-cut stand against the stabbings and violence in general, and if there is more denunciation and condemnation of these acts of terrorism coming from overseas”, he said. Fifty-five Palestinians have been killed, including 35 identified by Israel as attackers and the rest in clashes with security forces.
