Jon Jones’ manager says former champ is more focused than ever before
At 28, Jones is already regarded as the greatest fighter to ever slip on a pair of open-fingered gloves. “Certain decisions that he’s made, I’m sure he wishes he could have them back and he’s a really, really great guy and the fact that he gets to go back out there and show everybody what type of guy he really is and what type of athlete he really is”. Actually, facing Cormier for a second time isn’t what gets Jones out of bed everyday – it is because the former champion is so self-motivated right now the entire division should be anxious.

Cormier lost to “Bones” via a unanimous decision last January in UFC 182.
However, according to Jones” longtime manager, Malki Kawa, Jones has been doing a lot more than dancing, “The only word that can really describe Jon right now is “focused, ‘” Kawa said on Monday’s edition of the MMA Hour.
Dana White stated earlier in the summer that Jones will get a rematch for the light heavy weight title as soon as he is reinstated so it is likely that he will face current interim UFC light heavyweight title holder Daniel Cormier. “He just needed the time away, and now that he’s had that been able to reflect and see what’s important to him”. A belt, that is now owned by Daniel Cormier, who recently announced that he will take a few time off to enjoy life with his family. If Jon wants to fight him in February, March, April, May, June, July, whatever, I think DC should just step up and take the fight.
“It could be anybody right now”.

“I’ve never seen him this focused”, Kawa said. “With that being said, it’s taking very little to motivate Jon and when that happens there’s a problem”. Jon doesn’t even think about Cormier. So what does that mean for a Jon Jones comeback? As such, UFC expects Jones to meet all of the terms of his plea agreement, including mandatory community service, as a condition of his reinstatement. This is the first time that he doesn’t have a fight scheduled, he’s in Albuquerque, and he’s actually training. Personally, I think in a ideal world, New York gets approved and he comes back April 23 at Madison Square Garden. The one loss on his record is from a disqualification during a fight he was clearly dominating.
