Last season, the Senators-Flames head-to-head was divided two games a piece. Ottawa made a few changes in the offseason but return the majority of their team that went to the playoffs last season including Craig Anderson who will be getting the start between the pipes as the Sens try to sort out who will be their go to guy in the crease moving forward between Anderson and Andrew Hammond.

Ottawa had just one shot on goal through the first 14 minutes of the game. Bennett tied it again with about 7 1/2 minutes to go. Jonas Hiller allowed four goals on 18 shots before leaving the game in the third with an injury.
There was no denying the relief on Ryan’s face after scoring.

Following the collision, Hiller left the game and Joni Ortio came in and finished the game off. Ryan also briefly exited the game, but returned to the ice before the end of the game and took the Senators’ first shootout attempt.
