Ottawa Senators vs. Calgary Flames – 10/28/15 National Hockey League Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Last season, the Senators-Flames head-to-head was divided two games a piece. Ottawa made a few changes in the offseason but return the majority of their team that went to the playoffs last season including Craig Anderson who will be getting the start between the pipes as the Sens try to sort out who will be their go to guy in the crease moving forward between Anderson and Andrew Hammond.

Ottawa had just one shot on goal through the first 14 minutes of the game. Bennett tied it again with about 7 1/2 minutes to go. Jonas Hiller allowed four goals on 18 shots before leaving the game in the third with an injury.

There was no denying the relief on Ryan’s face after scoring.

Jonas Hiller looks like he’ll be the starter Wednesday against the Senators, Kristen Odland of the Calgary Herald reports.

Atlantic Eastern Conference Ottawa Senators have been experiencing an early-season stumble that continues to worry coach David Cameron and his Senators as they keep searching for answers in the midst, especially after Ottawa´s most recent loss (4-1) to the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday. Although he’s not usually too flashy, Turris hardly ever makes mistakes, and that reliability makes him a great asset to the team.

Sens Hero: Bobby Ryan Ryan started with intentsity (intensittee? intencity?) when he earned Ottawa an early powerplay, and kept it up through the night-especially when he was promoted to the line with Turris and Stone. Bennett equalized the game at the 12-minute mark. The Senators have scored a total of eight goals during their skid after tallying seven times in a victory at Columbus on October. 14. Although Wiercioch’s partner Cody Ceci had a good defensive play or two, Wiercioch had none to his credit; just a couple shot attempts and a lot of defensive zone trouble. Although he can advance the puck well when he’s given time, Wiercioch always has trouble against hard forechecking teams, and the Flames were relentless on that front.

Following the collision, Hiller left the game and Joni Ortio came in and finished the game off. Ryan also briefly exited the game, but returned to the ice before the end of the game and took the Senators’ first shootout attempt.
