Why can’t the Bucks win 48 games?
It’s my favorite time of year. Apparently, much of that is because they barely got any new faces to beef up their lineup. New York scored 120 for the first time since 2008, with their highest score in a season opener since 1990. Considering that Porzingis should be adept – he’s shown brilliant flashes – from 3-point territory and Anthony is a nightmare to guard, the Knicks are finally putting a team on the floor that no one can overlook. “No one joined him”, coach Jason Kidd said in the post-match conference. “There’s no panic. We’ve got to turn the page and get better”.
In order to come close to seeing the postseason, the Knicks probably need a solid season from Porzingis, the No. 4 overall pick. One somewhat unexpected way the cities’ identities recently coincided was in the arcane – and yet controversial – world of TIF districts and public-private partnerships: the Confluence Project and the new Bucks arena.
Porzingis isn’t a scorer on the same plane as Melo by any means, but he is a shooter who is used to getting a lot of opportunities.
“The concern is defensively if he’s going to be able to hold his ground”.
Since the start of last season, the arrow has been pointing upward for the Milwaukee Bucks.
“It’s a great feeling”, Bucks fan Jesse Marshall said. They shot 36.8 percent from three and hit their long twos as well, and that should open things up for Andre Drummond inside. Or at least since the Knicks spoiled LeBron James’ return to Cleveland past year with an encouraging performance that in the end turned out to be nothing more than a mirage. But we’re going to enjoy this process.
Galloway’s hot shooting in the second half was just the icing on the cake, completely slamming the door shut on the Bucks on any potential comeback.
And somewhere down the road, they could be special.
