The 43 president, extolling his brother’s leadership as Florida governor and his success in advancing education reform and showing leadership in response to a spate of devastating hurricanes, assured donors that he continues to have faith that Jeb Bush, despite his low standing in the polls and lack of support from rank and file conservatives, will secure the Republican Party’s presidential nomination in the end.

With fewer than 100 days until voting begins, Bush’s campaign is betting that a large swath of Republican voters will ultimately seek out a seasoned politician as their choice for the party’s nominee – especially given the GOP’s widespread dissatisfaction with President Barack Obama, who was elected during his first term in the Senate.
It highlighted polls making the electability argument for Bush, showing him ahead of Hillary Clinton in a hypothetical match-up, and it gave details on the strength of his ground game in the early states.

The Right to Rise event, a retreat for its top donors, was incidentally held in the same Houston hotel where the Bush campaign was hunkered down for the weekend. They’re laser-focused on the idea that as long as Bush has the cash, discipline and organization, he can push through.
