Transplanted Canadians view Trudeau’s win as good for youth
(Perhaps to ease the pain of the nouveau taxed, the Liberals also intend to legalize marijuana.) On security issues, Trudeau has said he will cancel the F-35 program, take bids for other jets, and redirect the savings to the navy for more ships.

Trudeau, who is the son of the late Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, is the first Canadian prime minister to have marched in a Pride parade.
The Liberal Party of Canada defeated the Conservatives in national elections Monday, pushing Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s party into the opposition and Justin Trudeau into the leadership position in Ottawa.
When Canada went to elections on October 19, 2015, Justin Trudeau was unlikely to become Canada’s next prime minister.
But, he continued, “on behalf of 35 million Canadians, we’re back”.
In 2011, the Conservatives won 14 of 32 Atlantic seats, with the centre-left Liberals taking 12 and New Democratic Party six. Such a victory also indicates a Canadian eagerness to fix what they see as the country’s tarnished image overseas and to reclaim its liberal identity.
Trudeau has spoken of scrapping Harper’s emphasis on military solutions and Cold War rhetoric overseas, and of returning Canada to its former path of active participation in global bodies such as the United Nations.
“To this country’s friends around the world, I want to say this: Many of you have anxious Canada has lost its compassionate and constructive voice in the world over the past 10 years”.
That party platform had nearly no specifics but it raised expectations both domestically and overseas that Mr Trudeau would change Canada’s course on climate.
Earnest said the White House was “deeply appreciative” of Harper’s work “to build a strong US-Canada relationship”.
LiUNA looks forward to working together with the Trudeau Liberal government in ensuring Canada is the best country to work and to live.
