He hit seven of his first nine shots to close the first quarter with with 24 first-quarter points. This was Curry’s 10th career 40-point outing.

The Golden State Warriors completed their championship tour after the players received their championship ring before opening their season against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Curry and the Warriors raised the championship banner and received their rings in a pregame ceremony. The Pelicans were the team the Warriors faced in the first round and not to much has changed since then.

The Pelicans were unable to rely on two-time All-Star Anthony Davis, who scored 18 points but converted just four-of-20 field-goal attempts.
Bogut had to leave in the third quarter of Tuesday night’s victory when he banged heads with Cunningham while going after a missed shot by point guard Stephen Curry.
The Warriors aren’t going to get that kind of offensive production from their two big men every game – and they don’t expect it – but when the points do come, it makes the Warriors virtually impossible to defend.
“I’m healthy, and that feels great”, he said.
The Warriors had issues with Cunningham during a December game last season when Harrison Barnes and Draymond Green were struck in the face in separate second-quarter incidents. He also grabbed six rebounds, dished out seven assists and recorded two steals.

Kerr said beforehand he isn’t sure when he will be back on the bench but plans to go on the team’s weekend road trip to Houston and New Orleans.
