Planned Parenthood Protesters Forced To Abandon Their Post When Mary Numair
Mary Numair, 29, works at Purringtons Cat Lounge in Portland, Oregon, and noticed that protesters had been gathering outside the Planned Parenthood nearby. ‘Planned parenthood is a vital resource for so many people, ‘ she told Buzzfeed News, explaining her reasons behind making a sign that read ‘Dear P.P. Thanks for helping with my yeast infections!’, standing outside the clinic and chanting ‘Yeast infections!’ while doing high kicks. “One woman was shaking her head”. She later tweeted that her repeated chants of “yeast infections” broke up the small protest.

This all bothered Numair because when she was 20 years old and without health insurance, she went to a center to treat a series of yeast infections, according to Buzzfeed News. And she’s considering showing up to the next protest better prepared. A few protesters formed a prayer circle. Like STD testing, regular pap smears, birth control, breast exams and mammograms, and, of course, diagnosing and medicating yeast infections, or as I like to call them, CROTCH MONKEYS. “I’m very much pro-choice, but if you want to take it beyond pro-choice and pro-life, there are … all these other things that are uncomfortable to talk about and [get treated if] you don’t want to wait two weeks to see your primary doctor or you don’t have health insurance”.
And for that, folks, Slate praised Numair in its headline, which read, “Brave Portland Woman Breaks Up Planned Parenthood Protest by Chanting ‘Yeast Infections!'” Side note: no one there wanted a selfie with me [sic],’ she replied, while sharing an image of one of the female protesters walking away from her.
Planned Parenthood tweeted their approval at Ms Numair, saying: “Activism takes many forms”. But Numair received mostly positive support, she said.

Numair said she’ll continue her counter-protests, and wants someone to help her make a giant wooden labia.
