Twitch Launches Creative Category For Live Streaming Of Fan Art, Painting
“Top broadcasters began broadcasting creation of fan art during gameplay downtime”, Morrier said in a statement. “This attracted more broadcasters to the platform whose primary focus was on artistic endeavors. With their passion, variety, camaraderie, and sheer organic growth, they inspired us to put a much larger spotlight on their community”.

Starting at 2PM PST on Thursday, and running for the next eight and a half days, Twitch Creative will be streaming from a dedicated landing page every single one of the 403 episodes of “The Joy of Painting”, with the hope that Ross’ trademark positivity rubs off on the site’s newest community. Now, Twitch has broadened its focus and launched Twitch Creative, a hub for its more artistically inclined users.
The dedicated landing page located under the Twitch Creative header has its own director and carousel that will highlight the most interesting content from digital artists, painters, musicians and the like.
With that in mind, it only made sense for Twitch to launch the Creative category. Adobe helps millions of creators share their imagination with the world. “We are thrilled to help showcase the incredible work people are doing – and share their creative spark”.
There are several individuals that have pushed Twitch Creative, including Geers-art (digital painter), Evilfx, Scene of Action Music (composer) and Vieparlafoi.
“All along, the Twitch community has included a determined community of artists, crafters and builders, who have been using Twitch to broadcast their creative processes”, Morrier wrote in the company blog post.
With this move, Twitch also introduces new live streams like the archived stream of the Bob Ross painting show and a channel belonging to Adobe that will provide content geared at the broadcasters producing creative content. The creative branch of Twitch is something new and unexpected and while it is true that Twitch is male-dominated, assuming males are only into gaming is a bit too much. Mr. Reddington, who has been recognized for his oil paintings, has an in-depth understanding of the community.
Because music creation has experienced its own renaissance on Twitch and Twitch Creative goes beyond traditional forms of art, the Creative category will also become the new home for music composition.

Twitch revealed in a press release that demand for creative content and a space where it can manifest itself has been obvious on Twitch for the past few months.
