Hayle Poppy Appeal volunteers were awarded certificates after last year’s
Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario Elizabeth Dowdeswell was presented with the first poppy for Remembrance Day by the Royal Canadian Legion at Queen’s Park on Monday, October 26, afternoon.

Bewdley kicked off with a Poppy Appeal concert in St Anne’s Church which featured performances from Bewdley Concert Band, Got 2 Sing and David Lawrence singing songs from the shows.
Money raised will go towards the Royal British Legion’s support for war veterans and retired servicemen and women.
Other events in the town have seen Bewdley Knit and Natter group knit poppies for the appeal as they do each year and the Schools Poppy Appeal Launch taking place at Bewdley Primary.
Mike added: “I am immensely proud of the generosity from the good people of Rhyl and Rhuddlan, We have targeted £50,000 this year and need the help of everyone in this area to achieve that, in order to assist The Best and Bravest Armed Forces in the World”.
The certificates and advertising was kindly donated by Polkinghorne Chartered Accountants of Illogan in memory of James Polkinghorne’s relative and former President, Harold Trevaskis.
The Deputy Mayor joined veterans to launch the annual Poppy Appeal in Mansfield.

Customers will also be able to recycle poppies in-store after Armistice Day, between November 12 and 24, with all collected poppies going back to the Royal British Legion, to either make new poppies or to generate more funds. “It was a great night”.
