According to Craig Davis of the Sun Sentinel, however, “Panthers coach Gerard Gallant said Jagr’s injury is ‘hopefully minor, ‘ a slight strain of the groin or hip that has been bothering him for the past week”.
Trocheck delivered a few breathing room in a tight game early in the third period, 14 seconds after a tripping call on Francois Beachemin. He basically skated on and quickly off, as it was officially a six-second shift.
Injury Update: Jaromir Jagr (lower body) will not return to tonight’s game.
“It’s not the way we want to start it”, Roy said. He has maintenance days and hopes he uses more than he doesn’t.
Most of the shots came on back-to-back power plays on penalties to Dave Bolland and Alex Petrovic.
The Avalanche would see even better opportunities in the second period, the best being a 52-second 5-on-3 power play just 2:08 into the frame. He gave up 19 goals in Boston’s first four home games.
Colorado didn’t score its lone goal until the final minute.
“Points, goals will come when you have the opportunities, if you do the right things”.
The Panthers recorded three power play goals and added a short-handed goal.
Smith stretched the Panthers lead to 3-0 on the power-play with 10:11 left in the third. “But if we continue to play like this 5-on-5, I’m confident that good things will happen to our team”. We got a great effort from everyone Tuesday, and we have to keep getting that. “But for me, I thought we played hard yesterday. We need that going forward as these points are huge”. “But I feel that it’s better off today to have a light gym (workout) off the ice, get away from the ice and get our minds fresh for tomorrow and have a strong game”. “He’s fine; no issues there”.
Reto Berra (20) of the Colorado Avalanche looks on during a game against the Florida Panthers at BB&T Center on October 27, 2015 in Sunrise, Florida.
