Those three catchers were named the National League’s finalist for Rawlings’ Gold Glove award this afternoon when the glove-makers announced their 2015 finalists. Pitcher Greg Maddux won three consecutive Gold Glove Awards for the Cubs from 2004 to 2006, making him the last hurler to win one for the North Siders. Escobar will battle a couple of east coast representatives- Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts, and Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorious.

The other finalists for the NL Gold Glove at catcher are Buster Posey of the San Francisco Giants and Wilson Ramos of the Washington Nationals.

Ian has a few stiff competition at second base, with the Astros’ Jose Altuve and the Twins’ Brian Dozier also up for the second base Gold Glove Award. He will face Yoenis Cespedes, who spent time with the Tigers before being traded to the Mets, and New York’s Brett Gardner.

Greinke had two whole errors this year and tied his career high for Rdrs (Defensive Runs Saved above average, according to Baseball Info Solutions). His inside the park home run in Game 1 of the World Series was super cool to watch, and it’d be even cooler to see Escobar add the Gold Glove to his list of accomplishments this year. Also, rookie catcher James McCann did earn Gold Glove attention. Beltre is joined as finalists by Baltimore’s Manny Machado and Tampa Bay’s Evan Longoria. At second base, the award is between Houston’s Jose Altuve, Detroit’s Ian Kinsler, and Minnesota’s Brian Dozier. Rawlings made the announcement earlier today with the winners set to be revealed on ESPN on November 10 at 7 p.m.
