PCB chief Shahryar Khan was in India last week to meet his Indian counterpart but Shiv Sena activists stormed the BCCI office in Mumbai raised slogans against the bilateral series.
Expressing his views on the same, Miandad said this clearly shows that neither the BCCI nor the Indian Government is honest about the series in December.
The protests by the Shiv Sena workers resulted in the meeting between the BCCI president Shashank Manohar and PCB chief Shaharyar Khan to be cancelled. “That shows that neither the BCCI nor the Indian government is honest in resumption of the bilateral cricket series”, he said.
BCCI is expected to be responded by the government in mid-November.
There had been murmurs ahead of the scheduled meeting between Khan and Manohar on October 19 of a possibility of India playing either a shorter bilateral series against Pakistan or a tri-series also featuring Bangladesh in the latter half of December.
Last year, the two countries signed an agreement to play six series in between 2015 and 2023, with Pakistan as nominal hosts four times. “It is a matter of our country’s prestige for which India has no regard”.

“One sees no reason why the senior most Pakistani officials should have gone to India to discuss a tour that is supposed to be played in Pakistan (or Pakistan’s current home venue the UAE) in the first place”. “I would advice the Pakistan Board to simply make it clear that if according to the Indian Board their government has not given them clearance to play Pakistan, then our government is also not willing to let our team go to India for the World T20 next year”, Miandad said.
