The struggling Premier League champions confirmed the contract extension on their website on Thursday, writing: “Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce Ramires has signed a new contract until 2019”.

But the 28-year-old has followed in the recent footsteps of manager Jose Mourinho, by deciding to sign a new deal and extend his stay in west London – having joined the Blues from Benfica in 2010.

Ramires has made 12 appearances for Chelsea so far this season, scoring twice in back-to-back games against Walsall and Newcastle United in league and cup.

Ramires won his first Premier League medal last season as Chelsea romped to the title under Mourinho, while the club was also the victor of the League Cup. “I hope to be successful other hand of Many chapters in the next four years”.

It is not expected either case will be heard before Saturday’s match with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

Mourinho’s side performed well against Stoke, and were perhaps unfortunate not to prevail in normal time, but at present it’s the club’s deeply concerning set of results that are more likely to seal Mourinho’s fate than the side’s performances.
