Miami Marlins to hire Don Mattingly

The Marlins thought they had the chance to be a contender this year and that did not work out and now the team has Suzuki back and a new manager in Mattingly.

The San Diego Padres hired Arizona Diamondbacks third-base coach Andy Green as their new manager. “As we got into discussion, as we kept talking, it just felt like it was a clear path. It was the best thing for me at the moment”.

Mattingly, who managed the Dodgers the last five seasons, will be the Marlins eighth manager since 2010.

Mattingly and the Dodgers mutually parted ways last week after Mattingly’s team missed out on a World Series appearance for the third-straight year.
