OnePlus intros its latest smartphone, the $250 unlocked ‘X’
This was revealed to be the OnePlus Icons headphone which has a price tag of $49. No other manufacturer offers a high-end handset for under £250 ($380) off contract, and OnePlus is aiming to fill this niche. OnePlus’ 2015 crack at making a smartphone was also mainly available through invites, though other ways of getting the OnePlus 2 also exist. This handset only comes with a 16 GB model with no 32 GB or 64 GB version.

There’s also the limited edition (and more expensive) “fire-baked ceramic” variant of the new phone, which still has aluminum sides but replaces the glass back with ceramic crafted from zirconia.
One thing it’s not, insists OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, is a mid-range smartphone. “Simply gorgeous, and exquisitely striking”.
So, who’s buying the OnePlus X? At the same time, an ambient display and a proximity sensor allow users to see their notifications at a quick glance, increasing convenience.
To lower the cost of the OnePlus X, however, OnePlus has a omitted a slew of the OnePlus Two’s features.
The OnePlus X will feature a somewhat dated Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM. It looks more similar to a flagship like Samsung’s Galaxy S6 than a typical mid-ranger in this price range.
It’s worth pointing out that the microSD tray of the OnePlus X also serves as a nano-SIM tray for a second SIM, as the handset has dual-SIM support. While talking at its design and looks, one can purchase the OnePlus X smartphone with glass and metal body sporting an unbeatable performance. With Android Marshmallow having been released, and there being no word when the OnePlus X will be upgraded, the skin’s appearance is simply an annoyance.
The OnePlus X is a line in the sand. One of the bigger sticking points of course is yet again the invite system. It will be first available in Europe on November 5 for €269, or £199 in the United Kingdom and then in the USA on November 19 for $249 equal to AU$350 when converted. The ceramic edition, crafted over 25 days, will be limited to a production run of just 10,000 units. It does make sense, despite the fact that it leaves many would-be customers unable to procure a device.
The phone comes unlocked, and buyers can use SIM cards with 4G, enabling them to use the device anywhere, according to the website.

The Chinese mobile startup plans to initially sell the new phone through its infamous online invite system. The company OnePlus is offering so many features in the upcoming OnePlus X model.
