Brady stellar in Dolphins rout

Tom Brady started fast, finished strong and looked ordinary for a chunk in between.

Maybe it’s time to start believing in the New England Patriots defense. Brady still threw for 356 yards and four touchdowns-one each to Gronkowski and Lewis, and two to Edelman.

“I’m just excited to be back out there”, Lewis said after the game, admitting he still wasn’t 100 percent from the abdominal injury. After failing to score in the first quarter of the season, against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the defending Super Bowl champions have scored in 27 straight quarters.

Even as the Patriots’ offense had trouble moving the ball Thursday night, the New England defense was turning in its best performance of the season.

Campbell has the players behind him too; linebacker Kelvin Sheppard has said, “With the changes that happened, we honestly feel like it was a new season”.

During Thursday night’s contest against the New England Patriots, dominant pass rusher Cameron Wake suffered what appeared to be a non-contact Achilles injury, which you can see above. The Patriots are now 7-0 for the second time in franchise history.

Sure, Tannehill just set the record for consecutive completions with 25, and he rated at the highest possible level of efficiency (158.3) in Miami’s 44-26 rout of Houston in Week 7. He threw two interceptions and no TDs.

Back from injury, running back Dion Lewis had more than 90 yards receiving and a touchdown at halftime.

The key play on the drive was a 17-yard screen pass to Dion Lewis on third-and-16. They have to be far less than most teams you play and we didn’t do that.

Running back Lamar Miller had 236 yards from scrimmage against the Titans – all in the first half before the starters came out. Jarvis Landry was the Dolphins top receiver for the day, catching 6 balls for 71 yards and 0 touchdowns.

Furthermore, at 3-4, the Dolphins are right in the thick of the AFC wild-card picture, as they sit just one game back of the Steelers, and 1.5 back of the Jets at the time of this article. “So they can make plays, and when they have the opportunity in the play action, go downfield, they stay on the double team and things of that nature”. “Don’t forget it. I hope it eats away at them, just like it’s eating away at me, and I hope it drives them to not want to have that taste in their mouths ever again”.

The Dolphins ended the half by attempting a 63-yard field goal. Their last two games have both been decided by a score or less including last week’s close 30-23 win against the Jets. “You know, missing last week, I was eager to get back out there with my guys and try and help the best way I can”.

NOT MILLER TIME: Miller had a tough night after two outstanding games. The lesson learned came in the form of a vicious tackle from reality, sometimes literally ( Chandler Jones escaping a double team to sack Ryan Tannehill in the second quarter) and sometimes figuratively (the 36-7 final).

“We’ve got a few chemistry with everybody out there producing”, Edelman told CBS Sports after the game.
