Apple is all set to unveil its first stores in the United Arab Emirates – and the wider Middle East – on Thursday, October 29.

The new stores opened as the firm, the world’s biggest company by market value, seeks further growth in emerging markets, which saw a 63 percent increase in revenue for Apple in its last fiscal year.

The UAE does have its own bragging rights – when the Dubai and Abu Dhabi stores open their doors for public this Thursday, they will mark the first time Apple would have opened two stores in the same country outside the U.S. on the same day.

Apple fans pack the store after its opens.

The aisle of trees lined up through the middle – which were placed to create a serene vibe according to Apple retail in Europe and the Middle East, Wendy Beckman – weren’t looking so serene at 4pm when residents and visitors were finally allowed to shop for the technology giant’s products inside one of their outlets in this country. This is where the Apple store’s “genius” will offer their expert feedback to customers.

The Apple store will also host a number of events in the coming months.

“Our stores are really an extension into the community and the community of the UAE is incredible”.

“Reem Mall is one of the most ambitious and exciting retail and leisure projects ever undertaken in Abu Dhabi, and we are thrilled to announce the news of it becoming home to the world’s largest indoor snow-play park”, said Shane Eldstrom, the chief operating officer for Reem Mall.

In keeping with local tradition, the UAE will be the first country where Apple is offering “ladies-only” workshops, she said.
