The previous iteration of the game had John Cena, and before that, it was The Rock that graced it. The name being dropped as the fighter on the new cover is Seth Rollins.

Austin, the foul-mouthed anti-hero who ushered in WWE’s “Attitude Era”, earned the cover nod over some of today’s popular stars despite last wrestling in 2003.
It is expected that Stone Cold will have his very own game mode in WWE 2K16, which will see players being able to relive the career of the Texas Rattlesnake. In a promo video for WWE 2K16 Steve Austin is digging out a champions belt.
“Stone Cold Steve Austin’s iconic style, unmistakable personality and worldwide reverence from the WWE Universe make him the ideal fit for WWE 2K16“, said Chris Snyder, Vice President of Marketing at 2K.
2K says that Austin is involved in the game’s creative direction, although the game’s features have not yet been announced.
Steve Austin may not compete in the WWE anymore but he is still revered as one of the all time greats.
Are you excited for “WWE 2K16“? The downside is this might hurt the current fans; everyone wanted someone like Brock Lesnar to be on the cover since he is the hottest thing right now in the WWE.
He said: “It’ll be interesting to see who’s going to be in the game”.
Well in time for a holiday release, WWE 2K16 is slated for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, and PS4 for October 27 in North America and October 30 internationally. Sound off int he comment section below and let us know.
