Solar power production quadrupled over three years in New York state

Governor Cuomo says the Empire State has seen its use of solar power triple in the last three years. “Through the $1 billion NY-Sun Initiative, we’re making solar a reality in virtually every corner of the state and building a brighter future today”. That’s just more than twice the rate of the entire USA over the same period.

While solar power remains a relatively small source of electricity in the state, the governor says the rapid growth reflects state efforts to encourage renewable energy.
