Skype lets you add filters to your video messages

And its newest update proves it’s still attempting to keep up with the times.

On the video message screen, tap the wand icon at the bottom left to access the filters. So Skype wants to enhance its video messaging features by letting you add fun filters as video effects before recording them. With over 300 million people using Skype, you’re bound to bump into someone you know. The Skype application for iPhone, iPad, and Android now lets users customize the short video clips that they send to Skype contacts. Whereas, when users are on the Home Screen of their device they can tap and hold on to the app icon and options for searching contacts and calling them will appear. Before applying these filters on the video messages, users can preview each of them. You can also use Force Touch a recent conversation to view the most recent message or live video if you’re on a call.

Support for 3D Touch was initially limited but has been growing in recent weeks, with such apps as Facebook, Whatsapp, Snapchat, Dropbox, Twitter and Instagram jumping onboard.

The Skype team has taken to their blog today to announce a new update coming to the Android and iOS versions of the app, which brings new features and specific enhancements. Skype can be a much more powerful tool then just that objective. You can also share a Skype contact with someone by clicking the contact card icon in a conversation.

Microsoft has also added more to the Skype icon for iOS users; users can press or Force Touch the icon to immediately bring up the most frequently used options, including the search option, Skype’s dial pad, or the option to start a conversation or a call. If someone sends you information during the video such as a picture, location, contact information or a URL, you can press lightly to get a quick peek at the info. · Available for Apple Watch – see your notifications and chat on your Apple Watch so you’re always part of the conversation.

Hide and delete chats from your Recent conversations by swiping the contact or tapping Edit, then choosing if you want to delete the entire chat history or simply hide it from your Recent list.
