Nike (NYSE:NKE) is opening up a Michael Jordan store in Chicago.

Such is the size of the estate that the 56,000-square-foot (5,200-square-metre), 9-bedroom, 15-bathroom home in Highland Park needs three separate walk-through videos just to highlight its extensive features. “This is one of them”, the first of these videos says as dramatic orchestral music plays in the background. “You say you’re great at entertaining?” the house asks other houses in its price range. The idea is to position the whole thing as a reality-show style competition, in which the ultimate prize is the honor of being the new owner of Jordan’s former home. Just don’t let the videos make you think it’s not worth the price.
Nike is also launching a gym called Station 23 for invited guests, which are mostly teenage athletes.

The sale is being handled by agent Kofi Nartey of “The Agency Real Estate”, who has taken a unique approach to stir up interest in the eye-popping property. “The buyers for a home like this aren’t buying it to be in the neighborhood”, he explains. Will Michael Jordan be able to sell his mansion as much as he was able to sell a lot of his sneakers?
