Arkansas officials are asking a federal judge to reject an effort to expand the lawsuit over the state terminating its Medicaid contract with Planned Parenthood.

The Obama administration is threatening to sue the state of Texas for cutting off funding from the Planned Parenthood abortion business after it’s Houston affiliate was caught selling the body parts of aborted babies.

The statement came after it was found that over 5,000 low-income patients will be affected if Planned Parenthood will be defunded. Jindal, who is running for president, has promised to continue fighting in court.

He said it’s clear that the decision to pursue the lawsuit as a class-action “only occurred after it became obvious that Planned Parenthood’s financial motivation would not be realized without certification of a broad class of patients”.

On October 2, U.S. District Judge Kristine Baker issued a preliminary injunction requiring the state to provide Medicaid funds to Planned Parenthood to cover services provided to the three patients while the suit is pending.

In their response Thursday, state Solicitor General Lee Rudofksy and Department of Human Services attorney David Sterling argued that Baker should deny the motion or, alternatively, more precisely define the class. None of the money paid for abortions.

Even more Ohioans (68 percent) say taxpayers should not subsidize a group liked Planned Parenthood, and the government should redirect funding to the thousands of health clinics across the country that provide comprehensive health care to women and their families. Planned Parenthood leaders have said the videos were deceptively edited and its clinic personnel follow all laws governing the donations for research. Later, Bentley said the videos exposed the organization’s “deplorable practices”, but Thompson said in his ruling that the videos did not depict, or involve, the Planned Parenthood Southeast clinics in Alabama.

Planned Parenthood of the Heartland operates the two Planned Parenthood clinics in Arkansas – one in Little Rock and one in Fayetteville – as well as a handful of Planned Parenthood clinics in other nearby states.

“The Inspector General for Medicaid in Texas uncovered several legal violations by Planned Parenthood”, said Governor Abbott in the interview. The organization, in an effort to squelch the controversy, announced this month it would no longer accept reimbursement for the cost of providing the tissue to researchers.
