Ricky Gervais has gone back on his vow never to host the Golden Globes again.
Previously hosted for the past three years by comedians Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association chose to bring back Gervais for the fourth time despite the criticisms he received after hosting in 2012. As NBC Entertainment chairman, Robert Greenblatt said: “Fasten your seatbelts”.
“What will he say?”
So to prepare for Ricky vs Hollywood round four, here are three of the most controversial comments and deadpan jokes made by Gervais while hosting previous Golden Globes…
In line with the Golden Globes host announcement, the organizers of the Oscars have also released that famous comedian Chris Rock would host the awarding ceremony in February 2016.
Gervais rose to fame when he created the British hit show “The Office”, which led to the creation of the NBC version that ran for nine seasons. He has also starred in shows like Extras, Life’s Too Short and The Ricky Gervais Show, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Louie, Sesame Street, The Simpsons and Family Guy.
As a stand-up comedian, Gervais has sold over two million tickets in arenas around the world.
