Trunk or Treat set for North Anson

Trunk or treats are fun also, but that’s what trick or treating is about.

Saturday: Say goodbye to October in style by taking advantage of one of these events. “Now it’s very popular”.

Middle Tennessee Baptist Church, 706 Richard Road in Murfreesboro (in Regency Park subdivision) will host a trunk or treat that is open to the public on Halloween.

Children under the age of 12 should be accompanied by an adult.

Twenty-five families set up candy stations out of their trunks in the parking lot, while children in costume played games, ate and had their faces painted. Costume contest, trunk or treat, free food. Come Halloween, she prefers to keep them home.

Go trick-or-treating with your child and, if possible, in a group.

“It’s a strong outreach for us because it’s good at getting the community in”, she said. “Also, it’s already dark outside and cold”. There will be a dinner, movie and Halloween treats.

For Aggie football fans anxious about missing trick-or-treating, New Mexico State University’s College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences will provide trick-or-treating opportunities at the third annual Agricultural Day, held in the tailgating area between the Pan American Center and Aggie Memorial Stadium from 2 to 6 p.m. The free event features breakfast followed by an overview of the book of Job; a screening of the movie, “God on Trial”; a panel discussion after the film with John Mark Hicks, professor of theology at Lipscomb University and Michael Strickled, a professor of Bible at Amridge University; and a final question-and-answer session about the film and the topic of suffering. “We know that this is the first stop for many”. There will be plenty of candy for everyone!

Below is a list of towns holding trick-or-treat hours on Halloween, unless otherwise noted. Church leaders saw others hosting trunk-or-treats and chose to put on their own, said Elisa Deer, director of children’s education.

This year they held the event last Sunday, six days before Halloween.

A few families still stick in the neighborhood for their Halloween. Brother Luke, 9, was a scuba diver.

“We’re finding, at Bell Shoals, that people drift away from church as they get older”.

“I also don’t care for people driving in their cars from house to house while their kids trick or treat. Park somewhere and enjoy the walk with the kiddos”.

“This is nice because there’s not too much candy”, Holland said. “This is not what I thought”. Stop by between 5 and 7 p.m.to participate.

Attendees are encouraged to dress in their best costumes and stop by.
