Wright said three people aboard the plane were killed. No word on how many people were on the aircraft.
The small aircraft left the Russellville Regional Airport shortly after 8:00 a.m. Thursday, bound for Knoxville, Tennessee.
The Federal Aviation Administration has officials on the way to the scene and the NTSB has been notified. Jones said he would not release information regarding the identities of the deceased until he received confirmation from the crime lab. “We have to understand that their are families today that are devastated and we need to keep them in our prayers”. The plane was destroyed by fire. The FAA will release will release the tail number of the plane once investigators are able to confirm it, he said.
