A smoke advisory has been issued for all of northeastern Colorado and parts of the Denver area through Tuesday morning because of large wildfires burning in Canada.

The air quality has reached an unhealthy level for sensitive groups (orange category) at several monitoring sites across northern and west-central Wisconsin.

That will result in decreased visibility as well as lower air quality, according to the National Weather Service.

A mass of smoke descended to the ground in the wake of a cold front that moved across Wisconsin and Iowa July 6.

Unlike this past weekend, some locations will experience an odor with the smoke this evening.

The Weather Service said the chances for showers and storms for Madison is 40 percent Friday, 50 percent Friday night, 40 percent Saturday, 50 percent Saturday, and 40 percent Sunday through Monday.

“By late Tuesday morning, increasing southeasterly winds with improved atmospheric mixing should disperse any lingering smoke”.
