Police say they tried to stop Cook and Wayne, on Interstate 65, just north of Nashville, but police say the auto the men were in crashed and the men fired shots before running away.
Both of the suspects were extremely risky and have lengthy criminal histories, Miller said.
Kentucky State Police said they’re still searching for find 62-year-old Cook, and they added they believe he may be traveling with another man they’ve begun actively searching for. McCarty was wanted in Arizona for conspiracy to commit murder.
Wayne was caught after a witness saw him outside her house and called the police.
McCarty was captured in a nearby subdivision in White House.
The home where police thought Floyd Ray Cook, the suspect in the shooting of an Algood officer, was hiding in Sunday night has burned to the ground. Cook then fled to Kentucky where he was reportedly involved in another shooting with law enforcement officers.

Authorities described Cook as a white man with brown hair and blue eyes, 6-feet tall and 160 pounds. “He is still considered to be extremely unsafe and armed so if anyone does come in contact with Mr. Cook, wherever you are, whatever county, city or state, call 911 immediately”.

There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
