Timberwolves win a nail-biter

The National Basketball Association granted the Wolves permission to wear the shirts for the first month of the season while they mourn their coach, who died on Sunday at age 60.

“It has been tough”.

“It’ll give me the opportunity to control the game a little bit more and let guys like Jordan and Kobe play off the ball”, Russell said. “Wherever he is, we are going to miss him”, said Rubio, who top-scored with 28 points and also had 14 assists. The gray shirts have “WE” written in big, block letters.

On the other hand, the Timberwolves took 20 three-pointers during the game, approximately five more than their league-worst season average last season; and although the team only made five, they missed at least a handful of open catch-and-shoot threes derived from an effective drive-and-kick scheme.

Los Angeles Lakers’ D’Angelo Russell will be returning to the point guard position, reports Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News. Perhaps Russell could find his niche playing his natural position.

With Flip Saunders in their hearts and on their minds, the Minnesota Timberwolves were able to come away with a victory versus the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night.

BULLS 115, NETS 100 Jimmy Butler led six Chicago players in double figures by scoring 10 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter and the Bulls withstood a few shaky moments during a wire-to-wire 115-100 victory over the Brooklyn Nets. Pau Gasol added 16 points and Derrick Rose contributed 15 for Chicago, who shot 53.8% from the field (42 of 78).

Cleveland capitalized on Memphis’ shooting woes, building a double-digit lead in the first quarter and extending the margin to 32 in the fourth. Denver is coming off an opening night road win over the Rockets 105-85.

Faried (18 points, nine rebounds) and Mudiay (17 points, nine assists) underscored the Nuggets’ balanced offensive attack. The Rockets shot a miserable 34.5% from the floor, including eight-for-35 (22.9%) from behind the three-point arc, and trailed throughout. The Clippers blew a 15-point lead before surviving for the win.

The game may not have been a work of art – especially when comparing to the playoff-like atmosphere emitted by the previous national TV bout between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder – but, it was fun in its own unique way.

What are your thoughts on the Lakers’ disappointing Season Opener?

We also saw Rubio push the tempo on offense, which turned out to be quite successful and it’s something the Wolves could rely on in the future.

Los Angeles’ bench was amusing in the first half, led by Lou Williams and Nick Young as the two combined for 35 of the 42 bench points.

In June of 2014, he named himself the head coach and coached one more year with the team, watching over as Andrew Wiggins won the first Rookie of the Year in Timberwolves history.

After a sluggish start, the Lakers grabbed the lead midway through the first quarter and expanded it to as many as 16 points.
