No timetable for Tiger’s return after surgery
The 14-time major champion announced on Friday he underwent a successful follow-up procedure to his September back surgery to relieve discomfort.

Woods, in a story on his website, said there remains no timetable for his return to competition.
“I think any time you hurt your back it is tough”, McIlroy said after the third round of the Turkish Airlines Open. Like someone once said, the best way to avoid your fifth back surgery is to avoid the first one.
On Wednesday, Woods underwent a follow-up procedure in Park City, Utah. Woods is still expected to attend and host the early-December tournament.
According to the release on his website, Woods is now on bed rest.
Woods, who was No. 1 on the Official World Golf Ranking for a record 683 weeks, is now ranked 351st.
While it was evident McIlroy does not know whether Woods will return to a position of dominance in the sport, he has not ruled it out happening. In a news conference last week in Mexico ahead of the America’s Golf Cup, Woods said the recovery and rehab would be “long and tedious” but did not indicate a timeframe for playing golf again.
“My family and the fans’ concern and support have helped a lot”.
And the Scandinavians look like they are all motivated by Henrik Stenson, who has attributed his fitness as one of the main reasons of his success over the past couple of years. I’ll be back, and I’ll be ready to compete.

It was at last year’s event that Woods debuted his short-game woes and finished last among those in the limited-field tourney that benefits his foundation.
