Ben Carson Says Opposition To Marriage Equality Doesn’t Make Him Anti-Gay

“The person who has the most to do with what happens to you in life is you”, he said.

Carson waited to answer until the ensuing boos of disapproval from the audience had died down. That is total propaganda.

He went on to slam the question as “total propaganda”. “For another thing, when people record what I’ve said, they record it in different ways”. While other candidates are jockeying for time and making eyes with the moderators to get their attention, Carson remains calm and patient until he is asked a direct question and then presents his responses thoughtfully and deliberately in a measured tone. They paid $7 million to settle a deceptive marketing lawsuit in Texas. And I said, well, I’ve certainly heard the term, but I didn’t know anything specific about them. So, I was mistaken.

“I think at this point, if five or six of us get together, who generate the largest portion of the audience, we can force change”, he insisted confidently, threatening to commander the debate process away from RNC chairman Reince Priebus.

Evidence surrounding the benefits of nutritional supplements for treating cancer symptoms is inconclusive, at best.

CRUZ: “If you look at a single mom buying groceries, she sees hamburger prices have gone up almost 40 percent”.

In one video for Mannatech previous year that remains online, Carson discusses his experiences with nutritional supplements while seated next to the company’s logo. Carson has written these paid remarks off as just several of many diverse speeches the Washington Speakers Bureau have booked for him.

Carson himself said he was prescribed the supplements when previously dealt with prostrate cancer.

Carson also said he was in favor of lifting a rule that prevents the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from studying gun violence – a stance that puts him in conflict with the National Rifle Association. That same year, he appeared in a promotional spot for the company, in which he praised Mannatech for providing its consumers with God’s chosen “fuel”.

“Carson chose to participate in videos while attending corporate events, where he gave his personal perspective and testimony”, said Crouch, who reiterated the candidate was not a spokesman for the company nor a “paid endorser”.

“Ben Carson never came into the boardroom with any kind of social policy commentary”, said Jeffrey Brotman, who chairs Costco’s board. “Basically what the company is doing is trying to find a way to try to restore natural diet as a medicine, or as a mechanism for maintaining health”, he says.

It also has given at least $10,500 to Carson’s charity, the Carson Scholars Fund. While it’s no longer accessible, the Mannatech website had a specific tag for all articles about Carson.

Carson’s non-relationship with Mannatech dates back to at least 2004, when he spoke before a meeting of its sales associates, The Wall Street Journal reported last month.

Slate went one step further, calling Carson’s denial “one of the most convoluted, nonsensical, bald-faced lies of the entire campaign”.
