“This was another very tough match, I had to fight, but to win this way was fantastic”, Nadal said. “The things are going better, there aren’t other solutions than working. I had my chances to take control of the match”, said the Swiss.
The French Open champion from Switzerland exited in the first round for the fourth straight year, beaten by Ivo Karlovic of Croatia 3-6, 7-6 (2), 6-4.
“After the first set, everything was good, I was playing well. I had a few mistakes, but it can happen”, he said. I played really good for two sets, more or less. “Today I got my chances and I didn’t take them”.
