A 2013 ESPN report showed that, for every $100 the National Football League sold in pink merchandise, only $11.25 went to the American Cancer Society.

Aside from skin cancer, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among American women. The black-white disparity in breast cancer death rates has increased over time; by 2012, death rates were 42 percent higher in black women than white women.
