Of course saying someone is “mentally ill” is not the same thing as calling them “crazy”, but the fact that Chelsea took Rosie’s remarks that way is typical of the misunderstandings-fraught mother-daughter dynamic (particularly when that daughter is a teenager). As previously reported, Chelsea, then a minor, was found with a 25-year-old man named Steven M. Sheerer, whom she had met on the dating app Tinder.
Rosie later publicly announced that Chelsea was mentally unstable and off her medication, a move Chelsea said was a low blow. Rosie said she ran away, but Chelsea now says she was thrown out.
“I miss the rest of my family a lot but I think there is a few much-needed space between me and Rosie”.
The 18-year-old has been largely silent about her reasons for leaving home in August, but she recently sat down with Inside Edition to reveal something truly heartbreaking: Chelsea says she doesn’t love Rosie.
Rosie O’Donnell has been through the wringer when it comes to her feud with her estranged daughter, Chelsea O’Donnell, and as much as Chelsea may be pushing her adoptive mother away, it seems as if Rosie has no plans of letting go. She also goes on to say that Rosie’s claims of her having a mental disorder are simply not true, though she does admit that she suffers from anxiety and depression, though she isn’t “a insane person”.
On Friday, Rosie took to Twitter to speak up on the recent situation.

As if being a celebrity persona’s child isn’t hard enough, Chelsea was also adopted, a topic which Rosie also addressed during her show.
