The family that found the needle says they were trick or treating on the north and northeast side of town.

They said they got a call from someone who found a needle in their child’s candy.
That person then checked his children’s candy and found needles in it.
Police say they are putting out what was reported to them, noting they’d rather err on the side of caution.
“There are no known injuries and there has been no known ingestion by anyone”, officer Christopher Gravin said in an email.
While these incidents have been reported to police, the investigation into the validity of the claims hasn’t concluded in most cases.
People who have leftover candy are also being asked to check it for possible tampering.
“The candy and packaging have been submitted for processing and examination”, Kennett Square police said in a Sunday morning Facebook post.
Trick-or-treaters received the candy in the Stenning Hills part of town, according to law enforcement.
