SEC foes clash at Jordan Hare Stadium today at 12:00PM ET when Auburn hosts Ole Miss. Auburn Tigers recorded 165.3 passing yards and 179.0 rushing yards while allowed 197.0 passing yards and 216.5 russhing yards with turnover differential of 1.3. But star wide receiver Laquon Treadwell caught a 21-yard touchdown to ice the game in the fourth quarter after suffering a season-ending injury against Auburn a year ago. Carl Lawson was a force whenever he was on the field, causing a number of QB hurries, at least half a sack, and made Ole Miss offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil skittish on a number of plays to where he was either called for false start, was leaning before the snap and not called, or bulldozed by Lawson once or twice.

Murray gave A&M a 28-21 lead when he kept around left end on an option play on fourth-and-goal from inside the 1 with 5:58 to go in the third quarter.

Rushing defense – C: Ole Miss didn’t get huge numbers with 156 yards but got key runs when it needed, including Akeem Judd’s 25-yard touchdown run.

Most of the struggles came through the air, where Auburn surrendered 402 yards.

“I think it’s just us getting our focus right”, Nkemdiche said. But on Saturday the big guy was a beast, running for 93 yards on 18 carries, his first half run of 22 yards a thing of beauty.

He said he wanted Auburn to “feel my pain”, and that happened.

“It was a good SEC fistfight”, Rebels head coach Hugh Freeze said. Ricardo Louis and Roc Thomas have combined for 589 receiving yards and two touchdowns while Melvin Ray has 12 receptions. I really thought Ole Miss’ season was going straight down the tubes after this, when lo and behold, the Rebels come out last Satruday and totally dominate Texas A&M 23-3. In 3 of the Tigers’ 4 losses this year, a few more plays made would have given Auburn a chance to win.

Ole Miss (6-2, 3-1) remains solidly in the SEC West hunt despite being overshadowed by No. 4 LSU and No. 7 Alabama. Thanks to a defensive stand on the goal line as time expired, the former San Francisco 49ers coach got the taste of a bitter loss to Michigan State out of his mouth with a 29-26 win over Minnesota. He’s a competitor just like all of us.

Kelly completed 33 of 51 passes for 381 yards with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Given that Auburn’s offensive plan this week was to run a lot of insane formations and just let it fly deep no matter what when the starting quarterback couldn’t take many reps, there’s no way we had “great practices” on offense this past week. That, in theory, could help an Auburn team clearly inferior to Ole Miss on paper, and is a habit that in more than theory can be a problem against a team like LSU, which hasn’t thrown an interception in 2015, or against Mississippi State’s Dak Prescott, who has thrown only one in 260 attempts.
