Coughlin likes the fight in the Giants this season

Jason Garrett won’t discipline defensive end Greg Hardy over a physical confrontation with one of his assistants, and the Dallas coach brushes off suggestions he faces his biggest leadership challenge in five years at the helm. The team had no deep threat to draw double coverage, which led to a predictable passing and running game, despite the very good offensive line to run behind.

Unfortunately for the Cowboys, there are non-football factors that are leading us to believe that this signing could eventually come back to bite them. But we’re guessing that they didn’t think Hardy’s issues would present a problem for them within just a few games. He’s never finished lower than 6th among wide receivers in fantasy points in any of those seasons. Sometimes those things happen. “We’re going to try to get through today and see how he responds to the work that we have”. That’s really what we’ll do.

“For 90 percent of the game, we played well enough to win”, Cassel said.

Hardy had no comment after the game.

Hardy’s rant, though, was all the talk nationally Monday.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, meanwhile, had no such qualms about the outburst and, in fact, encouraged Hardy’s behaviour. He becomes a free agent after this year.

Jones said he has been criticized for enabling Hardy since the day they signed him and numerous same people are coming after them again. I know he’ll continue to improve, because he wants to be respected, and he wants to be a guy who is involved in the community. “I don’t think it was an injury-type of a setback”.

Rapoport reported that there have been at least three times where Cowboys officials have spoken to Hardy, and that there are concerns within the organization about his “behavior on a day-to-day basis”.

“Greg and I talked about how you can channel that better”, Garrett said.

“We have guys who are well intended on this team”. Before the next kick, Hardy got into the special teams huddle and confronted special teams coach Rich Bisaccia. The Cowboys readily admitted that they were just hoping for someone to keep them afloat while Romo heals. I’m a work in progress, our coaching staff is a work in progress, every player on our team is a work in progress. He was probably as good as anybody I’ve seen at that. Marshall explained that Smith “was saying, ‘Hey, it’s clear I’m on the ball, ‘ and I was saying, ‘I see that, but we’ve just got to communicate in those moments.’ I’ve been in the league a long time, so there’s a certain way I’m used to doing things and there’s a certain way he’s used to doing things”. According to Bisaccia, it isn’t something that he considers a big deal.

“You know what? That’s the most important part”, Cassel said.

-RUSH OFFENSE: A. The Cowboys rushed 41 times for 233 yards and controlled the clock. Fans wanted Christine Michael to get a chance, but when Randle injured his oblique last week, it was McFadden who got the chance to shine and he ran for 152 yards against the New York Giants.
