Spring Valley High student reveals why classmates supported Ben Fields with

Singer and political activist Ted Nugent slammed the “defiant brat” Spring Valley High School student who was yanked out of her chair by now fired officer Ben Fields, who Nugent heaped praise upon.

The girl had reportedly refused to hand her phone over to maths teacher Robert Long, prompting him to call in Fields.

Lott calls the state’s disturbing schools statute “the worst law ever passed”. “Everybody’s like, they have a respect for him – to not get in trouble because of him”.

Video showing Ben Fields allegedly dragging a teenage girl out of a classroom. “I was screaming what the F, what the F, is this really happening”. One of the videos shows Fields yelling at Niya. “When he saw that she was not going to react, is there another way to do this?” Maybe she would do better in a different environment.

“He was wrong in his actions and it was not what I expect of my deputies”, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said. “Even the physical part”. But if the only resources police bring into schools are their handcuffs and physical prowess, they are not a resource-they are a threat.

Roof said the assistant principal present in the classroom during Fields’ use of force is on paid leave “Consistent with the district’s standard procedure when investigations are being conducted”.

“You may be getting word that students protested today at our school”. Still, the officer has to deal with the consequences of his actions and so does she. He also said, “She was very disruptive, she was very disrespectful-she started this whole incident”.

The protest was “an orderly student-led activity”, Spring Valley High School principal Jeff Temoney told The State newspaper. “He was trying to teach … she was preventing that from happening by not paying attention”.

In a statement, Fields’ lawyer Scott Hayes thanked people for their support, adding “the positive response and heartfelt support of Ben has been overwhelming”, WCSC-TV reported.

According to news reports, “the girl’s arm is in a cast, she has a rug burn on her forehead and has pain in her neck and back”. But again, she needs to be held responsible for what she did. The adults running the school decided that they were witnessing a crime-actually, multiple crimes.

“I believe it is important as a student to voice my opinion”, he told the Huffington Post. Hostin, aghast at his assertion, said, “I don’t need to know [what happened before]”, while Lemon, who aggressively and patronizingly talked over her, had the last word: “You don’t know she wasn’t resisting, you weren’t there”.

By that simple standard, can we acknowledge that both the teen and the cop behaved badly?

“When you’ve got nonviolent disobedience, you’ve got a teenager acting obnoxiously – yes, that violates the law”, Gupta-Kagan said.

“Not at all”, she said.
