The updated SoundCloud app delivered a ton of new features focused on improving discovery and the overall experience for end users, but didn’t offer creators more tools for managing their own accounts. Extra stats, the ability to edit track information and upload tracks, plus more messaging features are all promised for the future, as is an iOS version of the app. The platform had suffered criticism for stripping creator-focused features out of the main app previous year. It is the first time the streaming company has launched a mobile tool aimed at creators, who fuel its community.
Audio-streaming and internet hosting service SoundCloud has launched a model new standalone app aimed particularly at creators.
At present, SoundCloud Pulse is Android-only, as the iOS version is not yet live.
Pulse arrives as SoundCloud’s battle with Universal Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment in particular continues, with the streaming service eager to strike a licensing deal that would keep Sony and Universal artists on their platform (In May, Sony pulled its artists’ music from SoundCloud while negotiations continued).

With greater than $one hundred twenty million in funding and one hundred seventy five million distinctive month-to-month listeners, SoundCloud has constructed a large viewers since its launch out of Sweden in 2007. Getting a polished app ready for its creator community seems like a much-needed first step, however, before such a service rolls out.
