Hrithik, Alia, Sidharth, Katrina, Kangana & Other Celebs At The Jio MAMI
Indian film studio Eros International’s Trinity Pictures will hold an open recruitment workshop for aspiring writers at the 17th Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival’s mela at Mehboob Studio on Saturday, 31 October.

Amos Gitai said “I am moved by the award”. Sohail Khan and Zoya Akhtar attended the opening ceremony. “If not for my trips here, I wouldn’t have had the privilege of knowing more about Indian film legends such as Satyajit Ray and Ritwik Ghatak”, he added. Filmmakers should be given the liberty to speak what’s their on their mind.

His two films “Disengagement” and “Promised Land” will be screened at the festival.
Declaring the 17th edition of the festival open, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said, “I’m really happy that Jio Mami, Mumbai’s own film festival is opening at such a historic venue”. Along with them Katrina Kaif, Vidya Balan, Sidharth Malhotra, Rajkummar Rao, Kangana Ranaut, Huma Qureshi, Abhishek Bachchan, Kalki Koechlin, Aditya Roy Kapur, Vidya Balan, Dia Mirza, Anil Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee, Aditi Rao Hydari, Diana Penty, Radhika Apte and many other Bollywood actors attended the event.
The opening film was Hansal Mehta’s Aligarh, inspired by the life of Shrinivas Ramachandra Siras, who was ousted from Aligarh Muslim University for homosexuality and was later found dead under mysterious circumstances. The worldwide film jury has Vidya Balan as one of its members.
The global competition category has 15 films including “Mina Walking”, “Heavenly Nomadic” and Raam Reddy’s directorial debut Kannada language movie “Thithi” which is the only Indian feature to be selected in the category.
In a new section called Half Ticket, exclusively for children, the most outstanding and imaginative live action, animation and documentary features and shorts from across the world will compete for children’s jury awards.
The festival will also pay a special tribute to the renowned producer/ director Chetan Anand by screening “Heer Ranjha”, “Lowly City (Neecha Nagar)” and “Reality (Haqeeqat)”.

The festival concludes on November 5.
