HSBC renews sponsorship of HSBC Women’s Champions

The 26-year-old Fowler is a three-time victor on the US PGA Tour, including twice this year, but his first triumph came at the 2011 Kolon Korea Open on the OneAsia Tour, where he beat McIlroy by six strokes.

Shanghai – The flagship World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions will stay in China for the next five years with an increased prize fund of $9.5 million, officials said on Tuesday, making it the richest tournament outside the United States and major championships. He’s enjoyed a few good results this year, including second place at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters and T4 at the Scottish Open.

“One of the reasons I was so happy was that I could play the last four events of the season”, said Dubuisson. This is a very challenging golf course and it’s not only important to get your distance but also your ball onto the fairways as the rough can be quite thick.

“It’s one of my favourite venues of the year quite honestly”. Past year Bubba played a remarkable 72 holes; for the most part he was ordinary at best, but he blitzed the par-5s, then holed out from a bunker at the last to get into a playoff. Those have been McIlroy’s two dominant seasons and had he been given the chance to tee up at Sheshan in either of them, he’d have been hard to beat.

Three-time Major victor Rory McIlroy, who is only 26, had a season interrupted by a football-related injury, but still heads the European Tour’s Race to Dubai standings and completes a youthful top three in the rankings with Day and Spieth. I don’t expect the world number two to struggle like former FedEx Cup winners have but it’s asking a lot to take this title off such an absence, especially having failed to really contend in two visits so far. “Hopefully I’ll feel better tomorrow”.
